TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–This afternoon the Trenton Fire Department was called to assist Trenton Humane Law Enforcement to rescue a deer from the Delaware & Raritan Canal. Firefighters donned water rescue gear and entered the canal by Old Rose and Holland Avenue. Within a few minutes Trenton Fire was able to remove the deer to safety. The deer was temporally caged and checked then released to the wild.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ (MIDDLESEX)–The South Brunswick Police Department is reporting Georges Road between between Route 522 and Ridge Road closed due to a house fire. All three of the Township’s fire departments are on scene combating the fire. No further information is available at this time. When more information is available the story will be updated.

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–A vehicle lost control and hit a bin of watermelons before finally coming to rest into a brick wall. The accident occurred in front of ShopRite on Route 33 around 7 pm tonight. A bystander reported it looked like a person had a medical episode prior to the accident in front of the store. RWJ-Hamilton EMS transported the person to the local hospital.
The right entrance to the front of the store was temporally closed for clean up of the watermelons and other damaged items. The township building department was en route to inspect minor damage to the structure.

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)–An accident on Interstate 195 West Bound at mile marker 6.3, just after the NJ Turnpike Exit caused traffic delays up to 10 minutes. The accident happened around 12:30 pm. closing the right lane and right shoulder. No injures were reported in the accident. The roadway has been reopened.
