HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–The Hamilton Area YMCA has been candid about the struggles the organization is facing, due in large part to closure brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. In July, the organization launched a “Save My Y Campaign”, hoping to appeal to their members and the community for support of their mission work and their continued impact in the community.
One long-time member of the Board of Directors and his company answered the call. Nottingham Insurance has pledged $25,000 to the Hamilton YMCA, giving the organization’s membership the ability to double their personal donation in a dollar-for-dollar match. The hope is that their gift will inspire the membership and the community to recognize the importance of donating to such an important charity like the YMCA at this critical time of need.
Speaking on behalf of the Y, CEO Diana Zita said “We are deeply appreciative of Nottingham Insurance’s generosity and support. They have been steadfast in their support of the Hamilton Area YMCA over many, many years – we couldn’t ask for a better community partner.” A donation like this will help the organization, once fully reopened, to continue to foster its mission through vital programs and services that promote Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility, many of which are offered at low or no cost.
“The Hamilton YMCA has been a far-reaching non-profit that has always been there to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for our community and its members. Due to the pandemic, we now need to provide them with the financial support to get through this challenging time so they can continue to be there for the Hamilton community—like they have been for over 70 years,” said Jack Blair, one of the partners in Nottingham Insurance.”
