Amazon Evacuated Due To Small Box Fire, Fire Was Quickly Extinguished

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)–The Robbinsville Township Fire Department and Police Department were dispatched to the Amazon Warehouse on New Canton Way at 9:36 pm tonight for a fire in the area of the loading dock. Hamilton Township Fire Department and Allentown were called for assistance.

When fire apparatus arrived fire crews were directed to inside the front East Entrance. Upon investigation there was a small box that slipped off the top of the conveyor belt and was caught in the belt catching fire and creating a smoke condition. Employees quickly shut down the operation and used fire extinguishers to extinguish the box. The building was evacuated as part of normal procedure of the emergency plan.

No injuries or damage other than the box was reported. No other information was available. Fire crews left the scene by 10:00 pm and workers returned to the building.
