Hamilton Man Arrested, Charged With Robbery and Possession of CDS

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–On December 13, 2020 at approximately 6:02 PM, Hamilton Police were dispatched to Normans Hallmark, located at 1251 Route 33, on a report of a Robbery. A male had entered the store and approached the cashier counter with a Christmas ornament. When he was told the price of the ornament he told the employee to open the register. The employee told him she could not open the register. The male then walked around the counter into the employee area with his left hand in his jacket pocket and implied he had a weapon in the pocket. The employee was able to leave the area and called 9-1-1. The suspect left without any proceeds and was seen by a witness entering a blue Chevy sedan. The witness was also able to take a photograph of the suspect’s license plate as he left the area. Officers on scene broadcasted the license plate and the vehicle was located a short time later driving on Berg Avenue by Officer M. Mayhew. The vehicle was stopped and the male driving the vehicle matched the description of the suspect. He was identified as Frank Stephens, 42 years old, of Hamilton. He was arrested and charged with Robbery and Possession of CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substances).
