Trenton shooting sends two to the hospital

TRENTON (MERCER)– Two people were injured in a double shooting that occurred inside of a Trenton residence Saturday night.

It occurred just before 9:30 pm. Trenton Police Officers responded to the first block of Carroll Street on reported shots fired. Officers encountered two males suffering gunshot wounds. One male was shot twice, sustaining a gunshot wound to the stomach the buttocks. The second victim suffered a gunshot wound to the elbow.

Both victims were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where they are expected to make a full recovery, according to authorities.

This incident is under investigation by Trenton’s Shooting Response Team under the direction of Detective Sergeant Cynthia Hargis. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous tip line at 609-989-3784.
