UPDATED: 2nd Shooting In Trenton Today, Person Rushed To Trauma Center In Serious Condition

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Around 6:54 pm shots rang out for a second time today leaving one injured at the Trauma Center at Capital Health Regional Medical Center.

Trenton Police received several 9-1-1 calls for reports of multiple shots fired in front of 21 Laclede Avenue near West State Street. Trenton Police along with Trenton EMS and Trenton Fire Department responded to the scene.

Police found one person shot in the back and TEMS and firefighters proceeded in. The victim was rushed to the Trauma Center at Capital Health by TEMS with Trenton Police providing an escort to the hospital.

Trenton Police Department Detective Captain Peter Weremijenko told MidJersey.news that the male was being treated at Capital Health Regional Medical Center and is in serious condition, but expected to survive.

 Detective Captain Weremijenko said, “A possible suspect was seen fleeing on foot towards W. State St.  He was wearing a tan shirt and blue jeans. ”
