UPPER FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ (MONMOUTH)–Around 10:45 a.m. firefighters from Upper Freehold-Hope Fire Company of Allentown Station 82-1 were dispatched to I-195 West Bound near mile marker 13 for a motor vehicle accident.
When firefighters arrived the found a pickup onto a tree and the driver was heavily entrapped. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to free the driver of the vehicle.
Allentown-Capital Health EMS and Paramedics from Monmouth County transported the driver to Capital Health Regional Medical Center Trauma Unit in Trenton, NJ. A trauma alert was called en route to the hospital.
New Jersey State Police is investigating the crash. The accident caused a little over a mile delay but traffic was able to get by in the left lane until the roadway was clear.
