Robbinsville Township Municipal Clerk Michele Seigfried Named MCANJ Municipal Clerk Of The Year

WEST WINDSOR, NJ (MERCER)—Today the Municipal Clerks’ Association of NJ, annual meeting was held at the Mercer County Boathouse, and Robbinsville Municipal Clerk Michele Seigfried was named Municipal Clerk Of The Year.

Honorees are those individuals who have made positive contributions to the profession for the benefit of all Municipal Clerks. Honorees must be members of the MCANJ, currently employed as a Municipal Clerk and tenured in their positions. Qualifications must include activities within the MCANJ and may include related community and volunteer work.

Michele Seigfried started her career in Plainsboro Township as the Deputy Township Clerk in 1998.  In 2003, she was hired as the Municipal Clerk and Registrar of Vital Statistics for Robbinsville Township.  She holds a BA from the College of New Jersey and earned the Registered Municipal Clerk, Certified Municipal Clerk, Certified Municipal Registrar, and Master Municipal Clerk certifications.

She has been speaking at training seminars for over 16 years on topics such as writing, liquor licensing, elections, vital statistics, management, legislation, for organizations such as the NJ League of Municipalities, the Municipal Clerk’s Association of New Jersey, AM/PM Services, the New Jersey Tax Collectors and Treasurers Association, various County Municipal Clerk’s Associations, and libraries.

She is a member of the MCANJ, the International Association of Municipal Clerks, Municipal Clerks’ Association of Mercer County, the Florence Township PTA, and the Registrars’ Association of New Jersey.

She has served on many committees over the past 18 years for the MCANJ including their Advisory Board, Records Committee, Manual Review Committee, Education Committee, Laws Affecting Municipal Clerks Committee, and Mini Conference Committee. She also previously served on the NJ League of Municipalities Legislative Committee, Rutgers University Writers Conference Advisory Board, IIMC Region II Conference Committee, and the Robbinsville Township Cable TV Advisory Committee.  She served as President for the Municipal Clerks’ Association of Mercer County from 2006-2010 and 2014-2016.

She is currently the Co-Chair of the MCANJ Conference Committee (2000-2022), Co-Chair of the MCANJ Legislative Committee, and the NJ Division of Community Affairs RMC State Exam Review Committee.  Michele also writes humorous articles for the MCANJ Newsletter, entitled ‘The Quill” as part of the Quill Committee and volunteers for Girl Scout Troop 21430.

Fully Involved Delivery Van Fire In Lawrence Township

June 16, 2021

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–Around 4:30 p.m. the Lawrence Township Fire Departments were dispatched to the 200 Block of Bakers Basin Road for a well involved van fire. Upon arrival firefighters reported finding an Amazon delivery van fully involved in a parking lot. Firefighters extinguished the fire.

Trenton Resident Stands Watch Aboard USS Ronald Regan (CVN 76)

SOUTH CHINA SEA, Yesterday June 15, 2021, Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Fuel) 3rd Class Franchesca Rivera, from Trenton, New Jersey, stands forward lookout watch aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, as well as the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
