Operation Allies Welcome and Task Force Liberty Update

WRIGHTSTOWN, NJ – JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST –Operation Allies Refuge has turned into Operation Allies Welcome. As part of Task Force Liberty Joint Base McGuire-DIX-Lakehurst is taking a part supporting the Department of State and Homeland Security in hosting Afghan guests that have been evacuated from Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of State and Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghans at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible. This initiative provides Afghan personnel essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan.

Well Involved House Fire Extinguished In Trenton

September 5, 2021

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Sometime before 3:30 p.m. the Trenton Fire Department responded to the 800 Block of Anderson Street for a fire with reported entrapment. Upon arrival firefighters were met with heavy fire conditions in the middle of a row of houses and placed several lines in service while they searched the building for occupants. Reports were searches were negative and the fire was under control within a half hour around 3:57 p.m.

West Windsor Police Investigating Numerous Overnight Burglaries

WEST WINDSOR, NJ (MERCER)–The West Windsor Police Department is actively investigating numerous motor vehicle burglaries that occurred overnight late Saturday night and into early Sunday morning. The burglaries occurred in various neighborhoods throughout West Windsor Township police said.

West Windsor Police are asking residents to check home video surveillance systems for anything that appeared out of place during the overnight hours. Police are asking that if anyone sees anything suspicious to notify the police department.

Police say that there have been multiple actor(s) arriving by motor vehicle and been known to rifle though unsecured cars and/or steal them.

Police ask you to secure your vehicles and garage doors at all times and if you happen to see the actor(s) do not confront them but to call the West Windsor Police Department immediately.


Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash In Hamilton

September 5, 2021

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–On September 4, 2021, at approximately 9:26 p.m., a motor vehicle crash occurred on Hamilton Avenue at the intersection of Cypress Lane. Taris Hall of Trenton NJ was operating a red Honda CR style dirt bike east on Hamilton Ave. when he collided with a 2019 GMC Terrain operated by Kathryn Jablonski of Hamilton.   Mr. Hall was unresponsive at the scene of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Paramedics from Capital Health System at Fuld.      

The crash is being investigated by Officer B. Wood and Officer P. Micharski.  Any witnesses are asked to contact the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit at (609)581-4000.

Medevac Helicopter Called For Bicyclist Struck

September 5, 2021

SHIP BOTTOM, NJ (OCEAN)–A bicyclist was struck on Long Beach Island, and a medevac helicopter was called sometime before 8:30 a.m. Beach Haven First Aid Squad, Ship Bottom Fire Company and Surf City Fire Company and Ship Bottom Police were on scene for the landing zone in the field behind Ethel A. Jacobsen Elementary School. After the helicopter landed the person was transported by ground to the local hospital.
