November 7, 2021

EWING TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER) – The driver of a sport utility vehicle reportedly suffered only minor injuries when the vehicle flipped onto its roof after veering off Ewingville Road into a utility pole directly in front of the parking lot of Antheil Elementary School Sunday morning (Nov. 7, 2021). The accident, reportedly shortly before 9:45 a.m., was initially said to be in the area of Eggerts Crossing Road and Drift Avenue in Lawrence Township. Lawrence police, EMS and fire department units were dispatched but then were quickly recalled after the correct location – in the 300 block of Ewingville Road in Ewing – was determined. Ewing police, assisted by police from The College of New Jersey – closed Ewingville Road in both directions between Green Lane and Bakun Way. Ewing EMS and Capital Health System paramedics responded, but the paramedics’ services were not needed and they too were recalled. The driver was transported by Ewing EMS to a local hospital. The utility pole struck by the Honda CRV was split at its base and will need to be replaced.
