Update: Middlesex Prosecutor Reviewing Fatal Pedestrian Collision Involving A NJ State Trooper On Route 1 In South Brunswick

UPDATE: Route 1 has been reopened.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ (MIDDLESEX)–Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone announced that a fatal pedestrian collision involving a New Jersey State Police trooper is under review.

This morning, at approximately 5:55 A.M., members of the South Brunswick Police Department responded to the southbound lane of Route 1 near Raymond Road in South Brunswick following a report that a marked New Jersey State Police vehicle was involved in a fatal collision with a male pedestrian. Upon their arrival, authorities located a male pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene and whose identity is pending confirmation. Following a notification from the South Brunswick Police, detectives of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office responded and assumed control of the scene.
