3 Separate Shootings in Trenton, NJ Last Night

6:00 a.m. Update from Trenton Police:

627 Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard

Trenton Police responded to the area of 627 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard – MLK at 11:45 p.m. for a Shot Spotter activation of multiple rounds fired. Police responded to the scene to locate a victim that was shot multiple times. The male is listed in critical but stable condition. Police report the investigation is ongoing.

80 Astbury Street

Trenton Police responded to area of 80 Astbury Street for a male shot at 11:41 p.m. When police arrived, they found a male with a gunshot wound to his hand and a laceration to his head from being pistol whipped. Trenton Police are investigating.


1:00 a.m. Update from Trenton Police: (Kirkbride Ave. Shooting)

Trenton Police received a ShotSpotter activation at 10:04 p.m. in the area of 125 Kirkbride Avenue. While Trenton Police were responding a female called reporting her adult son was shot. Police arrived and located a male suffering a gunshot to his lower leg and two-gunshots to his buttocks. Trenton PD reports taht the wounds were non-life-threatening and the investigation is ongoing.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Around 10:00 p.m. Trenton Police, Trenton Fire Department, TEMS and Captial Health Paramedics responded to the 100 Block of Kirkbride Avenue for a shooting victim. Less than a minute later the victim was reported in the area of Kirkbride Avenue and New Willow Street. EMS arrived on scene and treated the patient. The patient was transported to the Trauma Center at Captial Health Regional Medical Center at 10:16 p.m. and a “trauma alert” was called. Trenton Police are on scene investigating.


Two additional shootings were reported tonight, both around 11:45 p.m. a shooting on MLK Boulevard near Wayne Avenue. That person was transported to the hospital prior to the arrival of the Fire Department and EMS Services.

Another shooting at 80 Asbury Street near Steamboat Street at 11:45 p.m. a person was reported shot in the hand.

One With Reported Airway Burns and Others Injured in High-Rise Fire in Ewing Township; Building Evacuated, 2 Units Uninhabitable

EWING TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–At 10:23 a.m. all Ewing Township Fire Departments responded to 1460 Parkside Avenue, an 8-story high-rise for a fire alarm. Around 10:29 a.m. a fire chief on scene upgraded the assignment to a 2nd Alarm with a reported fire on the 5th floor sending multiple departments to the scene. The fire was reported in Apartment 516 and firefighters knocked most of the fire down by 10:44 a.m. Three ambulances were called to the scene for smoke inhalation. One person was transported to the Trauma Center at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton with airway burns and a trauma alert was called en route to the hospital. There were reports of fire damage to apartment 516 and the apartment below 416 are uninhabitable due to water damage.

This is the second fire this month at the building. Another fire on the 6th Floor was reported on May 2, 2022. Firefighters reported “Tonight (May 2, 2022, at 10:32 p.m.), Ewing fire companies were dispatched to a local high rise apartment building for an alarm activation. Engine 31 arrived first due. Upon their investigation, a fire was located on the 6th floor. Crews were already standing by at the standpipe and immediately deployed a hand line. Additional crews assisted with ventilation and investigation. Chief 31 had Parkside Avenue Command.”
