ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)–At 7:10 p.m. the Robbinsville Township Police Department received several 9-1-1 calls reporting a fully involved vehicle fire at the Amazon Warehouse on New Canton Way near Gordon Road. Responding police and firefighting units reported a large column of smoke coming from behind the warehouse in the truck parking area. Robbinsville Township Fire Department and Hope Fire Company of Allentown arrived on location and quickly knocked down the flames coming from a welding repair van. Firefighters kept flames from spreading to other trailers in close proximity to the fire. A small amount of firefighting foam was used to help snuff out stubborn spot fires during overhaul. Robbinsville EMS treated a burn victim believed to be the welder that was making repairs to a trailer. That person was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, NJ. The Robbinsville Township Fire Marshal is investigating the fire. The fire was contained to the van and immediate area, there was no damage to the warehouse or nearby trailers. The parking lot was shut down during the firefight and returned to normal operation after the fire was extinguished.
