UPPER FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ (MONMOUTH)–Around 2:30 p.m. a pickup truck pulling a horse trailer traveling east bound near 725 Route 524 lost control and damaged a utility pole. Luckily there were no reported injuries and no horses were in the trailer at the time of the crash. Firefighters from Upper Freehold Township – Hope Fire Company responded to the scene and closed the roadway until JCP&L arrived to make repairs. Route 524 from Sharon Station Road to Imlaystown Hightstown Road will remain closed into the overnight hours for a pole replacement and utility repairs. The New Jersey State Police is investigating the crash. No further details are available at this time.
