ALLENTOWN – UPPER FREEHOLD, NJ (MONMOUTH)–In the 70th season of the Allentown/Upper Freehold Cal Ripken league, this year’s 12-year-old Redbird All Star team won the organization’s first ever 12-year-old state championship.
In the District and State Tournaments, where they won both tournaments, they went for a combined 9-0 record, outscoring their opponents 105-30. This was their second consecutive District Championship for the team.
The Redbirds went on to the Mid-Atlantic regional tournament where they finished in 3rd place out of 10 teams. They had an overall summer record of 18-5, outscoring the opposition 201-69.
