Traffic Alert: Sharon Station Road Closed Due To Wires Down

UPPER FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ (MONMOUTH)–According to a witness a truck traveling south on Sharon Station Road between Herbert and County Road 524 struck a pole and snapped it at the base causing wires to crash to the ground and land on the roadway. The witness stated the truck continued on and did not stop. Hope Fire Company/Upper Freehold Township Firefighters responded just before noon for the wires down. New Jersey State Police provided traffic control until barricades could be brought from Upper Freehold and Monmouth County to close the road. A representative from Jersey Central Power and Light was on scene assessing the situation. New Jersey State Police was looking for the truck that struck the utility pole.
