Trenton Firefighters Quickly Extinguish House Fire

TRENTON (Mercer) – City firefighters extinguished a fire today (Monday, Feb. 6) before it could cause any extensive damage. It was about 12:50 p.m. when firefighters from Engines 1, 10, and 8, Ladder 4, Rescue 1 were dispatched to 54 Bond Street for a reported house fire. Flames were visible on one side of a two-story home when Engine 1 arrived on scene. The “All Hands” signal for a working fire was transmitted and additional firefighters were dispatched. But ultimately the extra help wasn’t needed as first-due firefighters quickly extinguished all visible fire and confirmed that the flames had been burning only on the exterior and had not spread to the interior. The cause of the blaze was under investigation. The fire was officially declared under control at at1:06 p.m.
