ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)–Sgt. Philip Curry of the New Jersey State Police Office of Public Information told MidJersey.news that a crash occurred at 8:24 a.m. on the NJ Turnpike northbound on the inner roadway at mile post 62.5 in Robbinsville. The preliminary investigation revealed that a Scion was traveling north on the NJ Turnpike inner roadway. A Dodge Ram was traveling north behind the Scion. In the area of mile post 62.5 the Dodge struck the rear of the Scion. As a result of the crash, a passenger in the Scion, Mikias Gurmessa, 26, of Philadelphia, PA, sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Scion sustained minor non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Dodge did not report any injuries on scene. The left lane of the northbound inner roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours resulting in heavy traffic congestion. The crash remains under investigation.

There is a flaw in the design of Exit 7 on the NJ Turnpike!!! Its not rocket science too many accidents at that exit close that exit and divert it to the Bordentown Exit.
