April 8, 2024 Solar Eclipse

April 8, 2024

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Cloudy skies in New Jersey made it difficult for many eclipse viewers this afternoon. Many MidJersey.news readers in the Trenton area were disappointed with heavy cloud cover blocking their view at the time of the eclipse.

For those who were able to travel out of state to the path of totality in states such as Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine had an experience of a lifetime with very few clouds blocking the view.

For those returning to New Jersey tonight many highways leaving the areas that were in the path of totality are experiencing bumper to bumper traffic and heavy traffic delays.

If you missed this total solar eclipse you will have to wait 20 years to see another total solar eclipse in the USA.

According to NASA, after the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, the next total solar eclipse that can be seen from the contiguous United States will be on Aug. 23, 2044.
