Man Arrested in Hamilton for Posing as Federal Immigration Officer, Bilking Victims of Thousands of Dollars

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–Hamilton Police say, on January 21, 2022 several residents of Hamilton Township reported that a party they only knew as “Dill” was posing as a United States Federal Immigration Officer and promising to expedite matters involving their citizenship status within the United States, bilking the victims of thousands of dollars.  Through investigative efforts, “Dill” was found to be Leroy Quammie of Philadelphia, Pa.  As a result of the investigation, Mr. Quammie was charged with two counts of Unauthorized Practice of Immigration Law, (1) one count of Theft by Deception and (1) one count of Attempted Theft by Deception.  Mr. Quammie turned himself in on March 9, 2022 to Hamilton Police Division Detectives. Mr. Quammie was processed and transported to the Mercer County Corrections Center.
