Stabbing In South Brunswick

October 4, 2020 Updated on October 5th with South Brunswick Police information.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ (MIDDLESEX)–Sources told MidJersey.News that there was a double stabbing in the area of Arbor Court this evening around 7:45 pm. This is a developing story and will be updated when official information becomes available.

South Brunswick Police have reported that they are investigating a dispute that left 2 people injured. There is no danger to the community. Further updates will be released Monday.

At 7:41 pm Sunday night South Brunswick Police responded to the corner of Bard Drive and White Oak Court for a reported person stabbed. When officers arrived they found two people in a vehicle in the intersection who had been stabbed. Both were transported to an area hospital and are in stable condition. The stabbing occurred after some type of dispute. The investigation is ongoing. Police believe there to be no threat to the general public. Overturned Vehicle On N. Olden Avenue

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Sometime after 8:00 pm a vehicle overturned on North Olden Avenue near Breuning Avenue. Trenton Police, Trenton Fire Department and Trenton EMS responded to the scene. No injures were reported in the accident. Trenton Fire Department stood by until the vehicle could be up righted and towed away. Trenton Police were investigating the crash.

Ewing Twp. FD Responds To Assist EMS With Patient Removal

October 4, 2020

EWING TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–Tonight, the Ewing Township Police, Ewing Township EMS and Ewing Township Fire Department responded to a home to help get the patient to the ambulance. The configuration of the front of the home made the removal difficult so the extra hands were needed to bring the patient to street grade level to be place in the ambulance. After removal the patient was transported quickly by Ewing Township EMS.

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–It appeared to be “business as usual” this afternoon and tonight at Regal Cinemas 12 & RPX in the Independence Plaza on S. Broad Street.

Last night Variety Magazine published and article stating that Cineworld, Regal Cinemas parent company would shuttering all venues in the U.S. and U.K. The shuttering would happen since the James Bond film “No Time to Die” release date was pushed back to April 2021.

Since that time Cineworld has responded via Twitter “We can confirm we are considering the temporary closure of our U.K. and US cinemas, but a final decision has not yet been reached. Once a decision has been made we will update all staff and customers as soon as we can.”

It appears that the even if they do close their doors Cineworld’s Tweet points out that it would be “temporary” and (hopefully) not permanent. The entertainment industry is already struggling due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the delay of a major new release will be another blow to the movie industry.

Memorial Bench Dedicated In Honor Of Retired NJ State Police Captain

PLUMSTED TOWNSHIP, NJ (OCEAN)–On Thursday, October 1, Plumsted Township (New Egypt) officials dedicated a memorial bench at the township’s municipal building in honor of retired New Jersey State Police Captain James “Jim” Dowd #1503, who passed away on January 17, 2019, at the age of 86.

Captain Dowd served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and joined the New Jersey State Police on August 3, 1956 as a member of the 51st State Police Class. He served 30 years in various assignments and retired in 1986 at the rank of captain.

Captain Dowd was a longtime resident of Plumsted and spent considerable time serving on the township’s zoning board, planning board, and land use board. He was chosen to be honored because of his service to his country, state, and community. Captain Dowd’s life of service truly exemplified our core values of Honor, Duty, and Fidelity.

In attendance for the special ceremony were his daughter Deneen, son-in-law Lee, and his grandsons Jimmy and Tommy.

Several years ago, Captain Dowd had the honor of presenting Tommy with his graduation certificate after he completed the 106th Trooper Youth Week Class. Tommy is currently a police officer for North Hanover Township.

Also in attendance were Assemblyman Ron Dancer, Mayor Herb Marinari, Deputy Mayor and retired NJSP Lieutenant Eric Sorchik, Committeeman Leonard Grilletto, Former Troopers Association representative Kenneth Wondrack, Plumsted Police Department, North Hanover Police Department, family, and friends.

A special thank you to Plumsted Township Public Safety Director retired NJSP Major Wendy Galloway and Municipal Clerk Jennifer Witham.

Mercer County: General Election Vote By Mail Secured Drop Box Locations

All Drop Boxes will be open by October 5, 2020 until General Election Night of November 3, 2020 at 8:00 pm.

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)–Recently a secured election ballot drop box has been installed at the Robbinsville Township Municipal Building. The box is to the left of the rear parking lot entrance to the building. Just look for the flag pole and the box is in that location. There are also signs located in the parking lot to show the way to the secure drop box.

All Active Registered Voters will receive a Mail-In-Ballot that can be placed in a drop box at any one of the fifteen (15) locations (see below), mailed, or hand delivered at the polling location on November 3 from 5:15 am-8:00 pm.

Drop boxes will be open beginning in October 2020 until General Election Night of November 3, 2020 at 8:00 pm.
